New York, NY – October 4, 2022 – Sony Music Entertainment (SME) today announced a combination of corporate and digital investments, M&A and strategic planning teams. As part of this change, Angela Lopes has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Strategy and Investments.
Based in New York, she reports to SME’s Chief Operating Officer Kevin Kelleher and Dennis Kooker, President of Global Digital Business.
Lopez will be responsible for working with the company’s executive leadership and Global Digital Business (GDB) teams to help generate and develop strategies and investment opportunities that support the continued creative and financial growth of small businesses. For the past nine years, Lopes has been part of Sony Music’s GDB team, responsible for identifying and evaluating partnerships and investment opportunities, as well as negotiating digital music distribution deals. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Investments, overseeing a number of deals including SME’s acquisition of podcast producer Somethin’ Else and a strategic investment in Chinese music streaming platform He NetEase Cloud Music.
