BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – A new Birmingham company is expanding remote drug testing to help drug addicts recover.
Remote drug testing can be done anywhere without taking a urine sample. It’s saliva-based and can be configured via the app.
The owner of clearMINDnow says the idea came after the announcement of remote testing for COVID-19 over the past two years. Their mission is to help families tackle addict recovery in a way that preserves their dignity.
Birmingham Recovery Center Executive Director Ian Hennion said, “Being able to do it based on saliva collection of oral fluid rather than urine, and wrapping programs and platforms, is truly a game changer.
You can take the exam anytime, anywhere.
Addiction recovery is close to creator Liz Reed’s heart.
“That’s what my family has been through. And we really thought we were the only ones until we realized it was very common. And it’s nothing to be ashamed of.” “Both families and rehabilitation centers like Birmingham Recovery Center and The Foundry are starting to use clearMINDnow.” They have several different uses.
“With our telemedicine IOP program, where clients are geographically unable to come to our building, we need a way to provide an additional level of accountability. and whose families still want to be held accountable for urine drug screening. This is a saliva-based system. So it’s just in your mouth,” Henion said.
It is also convenient to be able to complete the work while working.
“It takes time to go to the lab, sit down, and then try to go back to work. [This] It takes about 15 minutes. [You] With a cell phone and a saliva kit, it just walks you through the entire process,” says Reed. The readings are said to be 99% accurate and all stored and shared in the app in a secure manner.
“If someone happens to be reusing, they are not always comfortable asking for help. We can notify this within our testing platform. You can partner with a case manager.
