Albany, NY (NEWS10) — In this week’s Empire State Weekly, IBM’s recent multi-billion dollar investment in the Hudson Valley drew the president to the region, touting a strong economy and economic growth. IBM has announced that he plans to manufacture $20 billion over the next decade.
Kevin Eunice, chief operating officer of Empire State Development, explained that the new investment will bring significant economic benefits not only for the state but also for the nation. IBM’s investment follows his $100 billion investment in chip manufacturer Micron, bringing manufacturing to central New York.
Also this week, New York State Police Superintendent Kevin Bruen announced he was resigning. His resignation came shortly after Ho-chol’s office launched an investigation into the superintendent. Former state police superintendent Don Chesworth said while some may question Bruen’s resignation, he believes the allegations of wrongdoing have not reached the level of criminal prosecution.
