Pet Overpopulation Prevention’s Pooch and Pal 5K Run and Walk took place Saturday at Columbia Point Marina in Richland.
There were pictures of puppies and several vendor booths such as Nothing Bundt Cakes and Starbucks.

The Nail Place is also there and the proceeds were donated to POPP.
Music was provided by DJ Rik Mikals, and a costume contest was also held. One woman dressed as a flight attendant while her dog wears a “Sully” costume as Captain Chesley Sullenberger.
All funds raised at the event will help prepare homeless pets for adoption. Pet Overpopulation Prevention is a Tri-Cities non-profit organization that provides subsidized sterilization and sterilization services.
The purpose of POPP is to promote responsible pets by providing pet spaying, spaying assistance, and a variety of ways to care for and find homes for wild, abandoned, and/or homeless pets. to promote ownership of
POPP is always looking for volunteers. In fact, nurturing is a great way to participate.
Responsibilities as a foster parent:
• Provide animals with basic needs and appropriate care;
• Help animals grow mentally and physically
• Teach animals basic commands and how to be affectionate and well-behaved pets
• Follow YHS Foster Program GuidelinesTraining requirements:
• be 18 years of age or older;
• Own your home or get foster parent approval from your landlord.
• Foster application submissions: dog adoption application, cat adoption application.
• Schedule and attend foster training
